
Smriti Ravindra is a Fulbright Scholar with an MFA in Creative Writing from North Carolina State University. Her fiction and journalism have been published globally, with works appearing in India, Nepal, and the U.S.. Her debut novel, The Woman Who Climbed Trees, has received critical acclaim, winning the Tata Literature Live! First Book Award for Fiction (2023) and the Valley of Words Award for English Fiction (2024). It was also shortlisted for the Rainbow Award for Literature and Journalism and the Asian Prize for Fiction. Currently based in Mumbai, Smriti teaches English language and literature to high school students while continuing to write and engage with literary communities. Smriti’s debut novel was shortlisted for The Asian Prize for Fiction 2023.
