Sri Lankan writer Shehan Karunatilaka is the winner of the 2022 Booker Prize for his second novel The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida. Another book penned by Shehan, Chinaman: The Legend of Pradeep Mathew won the Commonwealth book prize. This novel was selected by Wisden as the greatest cricket novel ever. Shehan has also written a screenplay, three children’s books and a short story collection, The Birth Lottery and Other Surprises.
