Debashis Mahapatra is a prolific singer, senior banker and avid badminton player.He holds the record of being the Triple-Crown Champion at B.J.B. College for the longest period of time. A prolific singer, he has been in the music scene in Odisha for over four decades, being a frontline performer in films, television, radio and the stage. He has lent his voice in over 50 Odia, two Bengali and one award-winning Hindi films, won many awards, including the prestigious Odisha State Award as Best Playback Singer (Male) twice in the 90s, among others. His versatility is widely acknowledged by the discerning listeners of contemporary Odia music.
